This Show is being hosted by 2 clubs, the Corvette Club of Northern Delaware and Keystone State Corvette Club. The Corvette Club of Delaware Valley will be hosting a “Slow Drag” contest within this show.
The “Show” has been in the planning stages since April 1st, 2007. A sizeable number of Corvette Clubs in the Tri-State area wanted to “PULL TOGETHER” and do such an event. Slowly, but with much perserverance, the show came “Together”. Many of the local club Presidents or Chief Regents have been in touch with me and Mr. Ken Woodcock from Keystone State about this wonderful event. All are “on board” and are looking forward to this event.
The Host location for the show is Wal-Mart, in Kennett Square. Wal-Mart is located on Route 1, exactly 1 mile south of Longwood Gardens. Their will be signs for this Corvette Show along Route 1. After you pass Longwood Gardens, look for the signs on the right hand side of the roadway.
Detailed information about this show can be obtained from the Corvette Club of Northern Delaware’s website. The website address is: www.vetteclub.org
A show flyer, directions and a link to the Chip Miller Charitable Foundations website as well can be obtained here. Lance Miller will be at this event to hand out the first “Chips Choice, Best of Show” award.
The Show will have a Chinese Auction as well as a Signed and numbered, framed Lithograph being auctioned off. Goodie bags will be available to the first 75 participants as well as the #1 in a series of 5,Commerative Dash Plaques depicting Chip and his 1953 Corvette.
There is a Best Paint, Best Interior, Best Engine and Best Club Participation awards as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in every class. There is a Modified/Custom and a Race Prepared class in addition to the Stock class. Club Cars ( Corvette Club of Northern Delaware and Keystone State Corvette Club ) are “NOT” eligible for Participants Trophies. Their will also be a “Spectators” Pick as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards in the “SLOW DRAG”, again, hosted by the Corvette Club of Delaware Valley.
A DJ as well as a T-Shirt designer will be at this Show. The T-Shirt Designer will be making up “Corvettes for Chip” shirts on an order by order basis…If your interested in one of these “1st Annual designs”, Please stop by his stand, choose your size and he will make the shirt for you while you wait!! He also will have other Corvette for Chip items available for sale.
So, the stage is set for a “Season Ending show”. What a wonderful and memorable way to finish the 2007 season, honoring a Man and his Son who have done so much for the Corvette Hobby…Both, “True Ambassadors” to the sport. I couldn’t agree more with Chip and Lance’s favorite saying, “Life is good”!!!
