Since 1974, Chip Miller has been making an impact within automotive circles, both in life and since his untimely passing in 2004 from a rare disease known as amyloidosis.  Beginning in late 2024, his namesake, the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation (CMAF), has been awarding scholarship dollars to the future of the hobby by way of the Chip Miller Memorial Scholarship.  Today, the foundation is excited to share that for the 2025-2026 scholarship cycle, 25 winners have been selected and confirmed as $1,000 recipients.

Up from nine during the 2024-2025 cycle, this batch of 25 winners spans the United States.  Winners reside within the shadows of Carlisle, PA, where Miller launched the internationally recognized Carlisle Events car shows, as far south as Alabama and Texas, north to Michigan and Wisconsin, west to Colorado and Washington, and points in between.  In fact, at least 15 different states are represented, ensuring that the future of the automotive hobby is in good hands from coast to coast and border to border.

The scholarship opportunities were, and will continue to be, available not only to high school students, but also to tech and trade school students, as well as those already in the workforce pursuing a career in the automotive field.  Perhaps the award supports books, tuition, lodging, tools, clothing, or something else.  Regardless, this is well-earned support for the students by way of generous donors who recognize the importance of not only Chip Miller’s impact on the hobby, but also the future impact these young men and women can have as well.

“I’m so excited to award these 25 scholarships,” noted CMAF President Lance Miller.  “I remember growing up on the fairgrounds in Carlisle and working with my dad.  He was always talking about the need to give back and support the future of the hobby.  I wish he were still here today to see not only what he built for millions of car lovers like him, but also to see how his vision has and will impact those who want to make a career out of the automotive world just like he did,” continued Miller.  “Congratulations to everyone, and best of luck.”

The application portal for 2026-2027 will open in late 2026 and run through the end of April 2027.  After a month or so of review, a TBD number of winners will be announced as $1,000 scholarship recipients on June 1.  Criteria include ambition, drive, and passion for the automotive hobby.  When open, candidates can submit their stories and applications to the CMAF by way of ChipMiller.org.  In the meantime, the CMAF is looking to rebuild its scholarship coffers.  Anyone interested in donating to support the future of the hobby, or to learn more about the scholarship itself, should visit ChipMiller.org and/or email Jodi Morrison at JodiM@CarlisleEvents.com.
