In the final months of 2024 and through the first four months of 2025, the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation made available $9,000 in scholarship monies to support the next generation of students who share Chip’s love for all things automotive. This amazing opportunity was open to any high school, undergraduate, graduate, or trade school student pursuing a career in the automotive field.  Today, we’re excited to announcer our winners!

Chip Miller co-founded Carlisle Events in 1974 and throughout his personal and professional life, was a die-hard automotive enthusiast. Sadly, we lost Chip in 2004 to a rare disease known as Amyloidosis. To honor his memory, his namesake foundation, the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation (CMAF), is proud to share that an all-new scholarship has been established. The scholarship is intended to support the next generation of students who share Chip’s love for all things automotive. This amazing opportunity is open to any high school, undergraduate, graduate, or trade school student pursuing a career in the automotive field. Multiple $1,000 awards were made available, with winners announced on May 30, 2025. Scan the accompanying QR code to donate to the CMAF and/or visit ChipMiller.org.

Let’s Meet Our inaugural CMAF Memorial Scholarship Winners – plus hear first-hand, their words of thanks and appreciation!

  • Jaydon Sanford: Current student at School of Automotive Machinists & Technology
    • To whom it may concern with the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation: I am writing to thank you for your generous $1,000 Chip Miller Memorial scholarship. I was very honored and appreciative to learn that I was selected as a recipient of your scholarship. My plan is to pursue a career in the automotive industry upon graduating from SAMTech with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Engine/Block & Cylinder Head Machining. I am looking forward to completing the remainder of my classes over the next year. Thanks to you, I am one step closer to my goal. By awarding me this scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden, which allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of school: learning. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.
  • Fernando Mendoza:  Current student at Triton College
    • Dear Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation, It is with great gratitude that I accept the Chip Miller Memorial Scholarship, as it gives me an opportunity in the automotive industry. I appreciate the consideration and this wonderful scholarship, which will indeed have a positive impact in my life as I work towards becoming an automotive mechanic, along with many other students.
  • Juliana Bogda:  Current student at Penn State Main Campus
    • I am so appreciative to the foundation for awarding me with this scholarship and want to thank you all for this honor. I’d also like to honor Chip Miller, as he clearly held the same passion for the automotive industry as I do. Thank you so much for this award and I look forward to putting it towards furthering my education. Thank you!
  • Gabriel Montoya:  Current HS student/will attend WyoTech in Laramie, Wyoming
    • Thank you for this scholarship opportunity to attend my #1 tech school and for the opportunity to build my future with this amazing scholarship.
  • Harper Williams-Garner: Current HS student enrolled in a dual diploma program
    • Wow, I never believed this could actually happen to me! My mom told me to just try writing the essay; I didn’t want to because I wasn’t sure I even had a chance. I am so glad I did, because this scholarship is going to help me with college expenses! I am grateful that organizations like yours focus on mechanical skills, and not just the academic courses that most scholarships are for. Thank you for allowing me to be awarded for my passion for mechanics!
  • Bennett Brady:  Current student at Santa Clara University
    • Hello Scholarship Team- Thank you so incredibly much for selecting me for this scholarship! What an incredible honor! It is already going to good use…I’m actively working on the next stage of my life saving device, which I hope to implement globally. The idea and patented invention: the RAD (Road Activity Device), a real time video recording software with a collective hive intelligence that can be installed in vehicles to help prevent accidents and save lives around the globe. I’m headed off to study in the tech hub of Silicon Valley at Santa Clara University earning a bachelor’s in business management with Entrepreneurship and a Computer Science Engineering with artificial intelligence. Off to change the world in positive ways! Thank you for believing in me!
  • Cristian Martins: Current student at McPherson College
    • My mom raised me right…Be kind, be humble, be respectful, and always say please and thank you. However, in this instance, saying thank you doesn’t seem enough. The joy that erupted when I read the email to my mom stating I was one of several students awarded the Chip Miller Memorial Scholarship is something I will never forget. You see, cars are my passion, and being accepted into the automotive restoration program at McPherson College is my dream. That dream is now one step closer to being a reality in large part due to the generosity of the Chip Miller Scholarship. My road to McPherson has not been easy. My mom recently battled cancer for the second time in her life, while simultaneously having multiple sclerosis. It has been a tough few years for us, but through it all, my escape has always been tinkering in the garage. Restoring my 1965 Ford Mustang and 1980 F150 puts a smile on my face, which in turn puts a smile on my mom’s face, and that is the best medicine out there. Bringing old cars back to life and allowing their legacies to live on is something I am very passionate about, and I can not wait to start my next chapter at McPherson College. Congratulations to all the other car enthusiasts who received this honor. And to the Chip Miller Scholarship committee, I know it’s only two words, but they carry such weight and gratitude. THANK YOU!
  • Megan Wojciechowski:  Kettering University graduate/now seeking her Masters at University of Michigan-Dearborn
    • To whom it may concern, I am truly honored to be selected as a recipient of the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation Memorial Scholarship. This award means more than words can fully express. It supports my academic and professional goals. It acknowledges the passion I share with Chip Miller for the automotive world. As someone deeply interested in automotive design and innovation, I find tremendous inspiration in Chip Miller’s legacy. This scholarship reminds me that enthusiasm and dedication to automotive can go hand in hand with community, creativity, and purpose. It motivates me to continue contributing to the industry with the same passion and integrity that Chip embodied. Thank you for recognizing students like me who are driven by a love for cars and the culture surrounding them. This award fuels my ambition and reinforces that I’m on the right path. Thank you for supporting a fellow automotive enthusiast.
