Over the last year, the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation has had the privilege of showcasing two amazing Corvettes that have ultimately become prizes for two lucky winners; a 2024 C8 2LT and a 1959 C1 Restomod. Each Corvette helped bring money into the CMAF, while helping raise awareness for the foundation, its partners, and their various causes.
The 2LT came to the CMAF by way of Whitmoyer Automotive Group and was raffled off in partnership with the Lancaster County Corvette Club (LCCC). Just 1,000 entries were available at $150 each. The winning number of 003 was tied into the Saturday, August 24 Pennsylvania Lottery Pick 3 drawing. Mark Murr from Lititz, PA held the lucky ticket and on Friday, August 30 he took possession of his new car. While Murr was happy with his prize, the CMAF and LCCC also had something to smile about. After expenses associated with the raffle, $37,400 each was donated to the CMAF and the LCCC. For LCCC, those dollars benefit Clare House, a transitional housing program that supports mothers and children facing homelessness.
Not long after the 2LT winner was announced, the C1 Restomod was awarded. The Restomod came directly from the Miller family collection and on Saturday, October 5, Scott Culbertson of Birdsboro, PA was picked at random from thousands of entrants and called just after 12 PM. This prize was part of a year-long nationwide sweepstakes that grossed over $450,000. Once more, there are expenses associated with the sweepstakes, but when the dust settles, the CMAF will again benefit from the generosity of total strangers, all who want to help the cause, raise awareness, and work to find a cure for Amyloidosis.
Overall, it’s been an amazing year to date for the CMAF. Not only have these two car contests generated thousands for the foundation, but summer events did too. Further, in August, an all-new automotive scholarship was announced. This scholarship opportunity is designed to support the next generation of students who share Chip Miller’s love for all things automotive. Open to any high school, undergraduate, graduate, or trade school student pursuing a career in the automotive field, the scholarship will award multiple $1,000 prizes. The application process opens in December, has a submission deadline of April 30, 2025, and winners will be announced on May 30, 2025.
Finally, the CMAF has confirmed and announced its next sweepstakes. The vehicle up for grabs is a 2025 ZR1 Corvette with the ZTK Performance Package. This prize is unlike any other offered, providing its eventual winner enough power to run laps around the competition on the track, or turn heads on the street while cruising the town!
Details and the opportunity to enter are available via ChipMiller.org. Also online are complete details about the scholarship, the ability to donate to the foundation, or to simply learn more about Amyloidosis. The CMAF thanks everyone for their continued support over the past 20 years.
